Jeremiah 38-41

It took me a little over 10 minutes to read this passage.  It was a sad time in the life of Jeremiah.  We often speak of Jesus return and the emotions that will accompany that time; joy and terror.  Jeremiah saw the terror of the destruction of Jerusalem, knowing that it all could have been avoided and so many lives could have been spared.  Then he witnessed the assassination of the governor whom the king of Babylon had set in place.  The fear of the people continued to surround him.  I wonder if Jeremiah was at peace; recognizing how many times God had delivered him from death because he had been faithful in proclaiming Gods word.
