I wasn't able to get the passages read during the day. So I took some time at night, after sorting laundry and running the dish washer. It took me about a 1/2 hour to read through these four chapters.
In 1 Samuel, David is fleeing from the irrational wrath of Saul, and then finds himself in the same state of wrath toward Nabal. Fortunately, Abigail steps in and keeps David from taking revenge into his own hands.
Proverbs 28:26 speaks about the very situation that Nabal created: "He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom is kept safe." These words in Proverbs echo the situation of Nabal and Abigail.
