Luke 10-12

It took me 20 minutes to read through this passage.  In the first part of chapter 10 Jesus sends out and then receives back the 70.  His response to their amazement over the power God worked through them is recorded in verses 18-20.  He tries to focus them, and us, away from the events that appear amazing to human eyes and onto the power of God working in our lives that allows him to do such amazing events in our presence.  Healing the sick IS amazing, but what is more important is to recognize that God is at work in the healers life making the changes in attitudes and actions that focus on self.  We grow closer to God not by performing miracles, but by surrendering to his leading and his will.
