Joshua 19-21

It took me about 11 minutes to read this passage.  The most important point is found in the last verse of chapter 21; Not one word failed from all the good words God spoke to the house of Israel.  Centuries before God had promised Abraham the land as an inheritance.  About 46 years earlier God had promised Moses and the slaves in Egypt that he was about to give them a land of abundance.  Five years before he had given Moses a glimpse of the land.  But it wasnt until this time, toward the end of Joshuas life that God fulfilled his promise.  Nothing he had promised failed to come about.  It was more than a good story it was an amazing accomplishment from a human perspective.  But too often we overlook Gods involvement in the delivery of promises, and that is exactly why Israel had possession of most of the land and the prospects for the rest of the land looked promising.  The promises that God has made for the people of his new covenant are just a sure.  The day is coming when we will speak the words of Joshua; Not one word failed from all the good words God spoke.
